As frustrating and difficult as they can be, there’s something beautiful about the dry seasons of life. In these seasons, we reach a point of simple desperation where we don’t know what else to do. We’ve exhausted all our options. All that’s left for us to do is wait on the Lord in the quiet. Pause before Him. We learn patience. And we learn just how deep the river of God flows as we drink and discover that there is no end to His refreshing. We learn desperation. We learn desire. We learn to deeply value His presence – as if it were the only stream in an endless desert. Dry seasons are hard, but if we walk through them right we’ll come out with our hearts shaped by the fresh revelation of who God is.

  1. Wow. I seriously needed to read this tonight. — the last couple of months have been a dry season for me spiritually, yet filled with spiritual struggles. It’s been hard, and tiring, to say the least, but I know the Lord brought me here, and He won’t leave me =) I am so thankful for the book recommendation on GR that brought me searching to see who this unknown (to me!) author was!
